Alamosa Flowers: San Luis Valley, Colorado

What's This?

I don't know the names of the flowers shown here! Please help. If you have more information please email me so I can add these to the Plant Index. Do you have unknowns? Please send me a photo, and any info you have.

What's This #9? Blooms in early summer. Nice, very yellow blossoms. You can see the tag that faded, alas! I have it in two places and love it. Will try to get a closer photo next spring. Died over drought winter of 2005-2006, but I'd love to acquire more. What's This #3? It's not May Night Sage. I purchased this but lost the tags. (This ever happen to you?) It is doing beautifully and reblooming in September after deadheading in July. It's some form of salvia.

What's This #4? Blooms in early summer. From Gunnison area. Dang, I didn't save the close up. I'll have to redo, but need to find the original first!

What's This #5? Blooms early and has almost fern-like foliage. Does well even with little moisture. This is not cushion spurge but has some of the same coloring. I've heard it called Japanese Pine.

What's This #6? Blooms in early summer. A friend brought me the plant from a nursery. It is tiny and I love it! Very flat foliage. Blooms only rise about an inch. Is some form of mat daisy (not Atlas). Died in drought of 2005-2007. I would like to replace it.

What's This #8? Blooms in late summer. From the Adams State College garden south of the admin building when they were digging up the garden. Blossoms are at the top of the stalks.
