Flower Detail

Lathyrus

Sweet Peas are a great favorite in our cool climate. I'm afraid my photo doesn't do justice to the many wonderful examples around town. I just seem to have trouble with them! Often, the plants will grow but don't flower. I've read that they don't tend to flower if they get too much fertilizer, so I've tried to avoid that. Oh, well. Some did very well this year, both those in full sun on a trellis and those in partial shade climbing crab-apple trees.
